MEHETIA
Mehetia is the youngest island of the Society Islands in French Polynesia. It is a Windward Island, located on the East side of French Polynesia. This is a very young active Volcano 68.4 miles east of Taiarapu Peninsula of Tahiti. It has an area of 0.89 square miles and its highest point is 1,427 ft. Mehetia's well-defined volcanic crater contains a very active hot point.
This stunning island near Tahiti will transport you in time, and provide a glimpse of the earth when it was new and wild. Preserved by the previous owners to provide a home for many exotic birds and flowers, this beautiful isle is one of the most recent formations of the volcanic Society Islands.
Mehetia Productions has its similarities to the island it was named from. We are also new & located on the Windward side of 'Oahu. Although we are small in size, the magnitude of our students is extremely high in expectations. Just like Mehetia Island, we are ready to explode at any given time! When we erupt, it will be heard around the world!
Mehetia Productions' first class started on Monday, March 4th 2002 in Kaneohe, HI. The first month of class began with 2 students, which increased to 32 the following month. Today, we have taught over 300 students in Polynesian Dance and still going strong!
